This innovative concept stems from the universal need to prioritise timing and capture the fleeting moments often lost to perfecting parameters and composition. The benefits of this masterful combination extend across portrait, landscape, and street photography, making it easier for creatives to simply point and shoot. Once captured, users can immediately crop their image in-body, with options for full-frame and APS-C-sized formats, including lossless compressed RAW (L, M, S). This feature makes it easier to prepare a 12 MP image for print or crop down to just 6 MP for optimised smartphone viewing.

For portrait shoots, the ability to crop later helps reduce the psychological distance between the photographer and the subject, keeping them engaged and encouraging natural expressions. The smaller camera size (124.0 x 71.1 x 63.4 mm) also makes the Alpha &c R more inconspicuous for street photography, going undetected by passers-by and helping maintain authentic results. Following the popularity of touch controls introduced with the ZV-E1, the Alpha 7C R benefits from the same intuitive interface that mimics the simplicity of smartphone navigation. A simple swipe will give you access to all the controls, allowing you to set parameters before swiping the menu away to get back to shooting.
